MK4900 Soft Reset - Warm Boot

1. Select Start > Programs > Warmboot. Alternatively, use the Application Program Interface (API).

MK3900 / MK4900 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. Press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds to reboot the device.

Symbol MK2000 Hard Reset (Cold Boot)
MK2000 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. To perform a cold boot press and hold buttons B and C until the display goes blank
    (typically 15 seconds) then release buttons. The MK2000 reboots.
2. To prevent the MK2000 from entering an application, simultaneously hold down buttons A and D
    just after the blue Performing System Initialization (Phase 1) screen appears.
   The A and D buttons must be held down before the message changes to Phase 2.
3. When the Enter Password prompt appears, enter DDBAC and touch OK on the screen,
    or simultaneously press the A and B buttons for Enter.
4. The MK2000 enters Protected Mode and the Win CE desktop appears.



Symbol MK1200 Hard Reset (Cold Boot)
MK1200 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. Connect the MK1200 to the host computer by connecting the USB cable (Symbol p/n 25-64626-01R) to the ActiveSync
  (RS-485) port on the MK1200, and the other end to a USB port on the host computer.
2. In ActiveSync on the host computer, click Explore. Windows® Explorer opens the Mobile Device window for the MK1200.
3. Open a new Windows® Explorer and browse the host computer to locate the file.
4. Right-click on the file and select Copy.
5. Right-click in the MK1200 Application folder and select Paste. A prompt requests to overwrite the existing file (if present).
6. After downloading the mkconfig.reg file, perform a remote or local cold boot to apply the new settings:
    a) Remote Boot: After loading the configuration file onto the MK1200 using the wired or wireless Ethernet connection,
         use the RDM to send a command over the network to initiate a remote cold boot of the MK1200.
      i)  Select the MK1200 to cold boot from the list box in the Remote Device Manager screen.
     ii) From the RDM main toolbar, select Actions > Cold Boot. Allow approximately one minute for the MK1200

          to reboot and reconnect, then select View > Refresh to verify the device rebooted successfully.
     b) Local Boot: To manually cold boot the MK1200, which enables the settings within the mkconfig.reg file to load,
          press and hold buttons B and C on the MK1200 until the display goes blank (typically 15 seconds), then release the buttons.
         Alternatively, to cold boot the MK1200, select the Reboot option from the System Menu File menu.

1. Connect the MK1100 to the host computer by connecting the USB cable (Symbol p/n 25-64626-01R) to the Debug port

    on the MK1100, and the other end to a USB port on the host computer.
2. In ActiveSync on the host computer, click Explore. Windows® Explorer opens the Mobile Device window for the MK1100.

MK500 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. Before downloading the configuration file (.reg file) to the MK500 Application folder, rename it mkconfig.reg. Use one of the following methods to download the file to the MK500:
 Copy the mkconfig.reg file to the MK500 Application folder using a USB ActiveSync Connection.
 .Send the file to the MK500 Application folder using FTP or AirBeam.
 .Copy the mkconfig.reg file to an SD card, then transfer the file into the MK500 Application folder.
2. Press and hold Reset button on the side of the MK500 for 10 seconds, then release, OR remove and apply power.

ET1 Soft Reset - Warm Boot

1. Press and hold the Power button until the device options menu appears.
2. Touch Reset.


ET1 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. Simultaneously press and release the Left Scan/Action,
   Right Scan/Action and Power buttons on the back of the ET1.

ET1 Factory Reset

1. Download the Enterprise Reset file fromMotorola Support Central web site.
2. Copy the ET1N0GxxERxxxxxxx.zip file to the root directory of the microSD card.
3. Press and hold the Power button until the device options menu appears.
4. Touch Reset.
5. Touch OK. The ET1 resets.
6. Press and hold the Right Scan/Action button.
7. When the Recovery Mode screen appears release the Right Scan/Action button.




8. Touch the Home button, the System Recovery screen appears
9. Touch P1 or P2 to navigate to the apply update from /sdcard option.
10.Touch P3.
11.Touch P1 or P2 to navigate to the ET1N0GxxFRxxxxxxx.zip file.
12.Touch P3. The Factory Reset occurs and then the ET1 resets.

1. Press the ON/OFF key to suspend the terminal.
2. Press and hold the SHIFT and L keys.
3. Press and release the ON/OFF key.
4. Release the SHIFT and L keys. The VRC 6940 displays copyright, RAM size, expanded memory size,
   and other start-upinformation, depending on the system's Configuration.


VRC6940 Hard Reset - Cold Boot

1. Press the ON/OFF key to suspend the terminal
2. Press and hold the ENTER, F4 and F1 keys.
3. Press and release the ON/OFF key.
4. Release the ENTER, F4 and F1 keys. The VRC 6940 displays a copyright message, amount of RAM,
   and amount of expanded memory. Other messages are displayed as well, varying with the system configuration.

1. Turn off the Main Power switch on the top of the vehicle computer.
2. Simultaneously press the P1, P3, and the Power button on the Quick Access Panel, then turn on the Main Power switch.
